In accordance with the BS 5454 directives on areas dedicated to book storage, the RAILS-ASRS warehouse can be equipped with a system based on the principle of reduction of the combustion factor by subtracting oxygen below the 15% threshold.

At the same time RAILS-ASRS, suitably subjected to slight overpressure, is protected from the entry of untreated or treated air coming from external environments, thus avoiding the introduction of biological materials (pollen, biological residues, dust).

The oxygen value inside the deposit can be periodically reset to zero for a disinfesting action by aerobic organisms.

ENVIRONMENT NOT ANTHROPIZED

The absence of staff in the RAILS warehouses eliminates the import of external organic agents such as: powders, food, insects, human biological materials (hair, epidermis), to be counted among the main responsible for the etiology of paper diseases.

AIR TREATMENT PLANT

The RAILS warehouse can be equipped with an air recycling system with a capacity of 1.5-2 ambient volumes, suitably equipped with mechanical and activated carbon filters for protection from bacteria, dust and other external agents.

 

ELIMINATION OF AIR CONDITIONING AND DEHUMIFICATION PLANTS

The absence of passing air currents (opening and closing of doors and windows) and the stability of the environments created thanks to the introduction of the modified Atmosphere condition, guarantee an ideal climatic set-up both in terms of temperature and humidity, making the installation of temperature control systems. The climatic micro-adaptations linked to the normal flow of the seasons are the best guarantee for a correct conservation of documents and paper materials in general.
